A man falls asleep in an abandoned cinema. Later, on a remote island, he leafs through a lighthouse journal.

The Illuminating Room is a speculative film that reconsiders the nature of the lighthouse’s coded light. Through celluloid and flickering narration, the film investigates the intermittence and periodicity shared by the film projector and the lighthouse. These two spatially distant yet contemporaneous optical apparatuses emit light and produce hallucinatory effects.
